In the year 2051, a mining vessel with a 7 man crew is sent to dig precious minerals from a nearby asteroid headed towards Earth. As the mining operation begins, one of the crewmen is trapped and fatally injured in what appears to be an accident. Against the ship captains direct orders, Deryl Boden (Michael Pare), the ship's mysterious and moody pilot tries unsuccessfully to save him. Boden and the Captain get into a first fight over the incident. Several days later the Captain is found dead and Deryl is the prime suspect. Nobody trusts him, except the alluring and beautiful geologist, Desousa. She uncovers an insurrectionist plot to destroy the Earth by diverting Deryl's ex-wife, Marilyn, works as an antiterrorist agent.
