The Last Bullet is a story of a psychological battle between an Australian soldier and a Japanese soldier stranded in a jungle on the island of Borneo, South East Asia, during the closing days of World War it. When Stanley Brennan and his unit goes on patrol through the jungle, they are attacked by a Japanese unit, including are sniper, Yamamura. Yamamura expertly kills the entire unit. Only Stanley survives, trapped and alone. The two soldiers fight in the desolate jungle, utillsing all their physical and psychological strength for two whole days. Now, they have reached a plateau of fatigue and are beginning to hallucinate. When both Stanley and Yamamura have only one bullet left, a couple of local village girls wander into their battlefield. Stanley makes up his mind to use his that bullet to alert th girls, but misses. Then ...a shot rings out. One second later a serial explosion fills the minefield, and Yamamura disappears into the chaos of the explosions......
